In 2009 Guildford Arts organised
three innovative free arts workshops for local excluded young people.
Workshops were arranged in hip hop dance (at Park Barn), in digital arts (at
the Short Stay School, formerly the PRU) and in samba drumming (at Grafham
Grange). With peer educators, as part of the workshop leadership, the
participants had role models to guide them. The pilot projects were
sponsored by Electronic Arts, Surrey Community Foundation, Surrey County
Council and Guildford Borough Council. The independent Evaluation Report can
be read at [Evaluation Report].
We will be considering what are the next steps for this project.
