  • Guildford CAB is a locally based charity. It is part of the world's largest independent advice agency, founded in 1939.

  • 90 people work in Guildford CAB, over 97% are volunteers, either working in the bureau itself or serving on the Board of Trustees.

  • We provide free, confidential, independent and impartial information, advice and advocacy on every subject.

  • 1 in 7 of Guildford's adult population used our services last year.

  • On average the Bureau has over 300 open cases at any one time on which we are providing assistance.

  • We draw on our experience of client problems to provide evidence to influence local and national social policy and services.

  • The Bureau relies primarily on Guildford Borough Council for its funding. It also receives donations from local people, firms and groups, and some funding for specific work with targeted groups from other parts of the public sector, such as the Health Authority and Legal Services Commission.
