What can the CAB do?

We can:

• Check that you are the person who must pay a bill.
• Advise about the relative priority of each debt and the kind of penalties your creditors can enforce.
• Help you work out a regular budget so that you and your family can afford to pay your essential living expenses.
• Discuss the options that you have to deal with your creditors.
• Negotiate with your creditors to achieve an agreed settlement.
• Prepare a financial statement which shows a full picture of income, expenditure and a suggested repayment schedule.
• Continue to support you until the issues are resolved.
• Help you deal with any Court actions which may arise.
